National Museum Machado de Castro
The MNMC is located in the historical area of Coimbra, Portugal – UNESCO World Heritage since 2013.
Design of the permanent exhibition and signage system for MNMC. The Museums collection has over 500 os pieces in there collection, sculpture, archeological finds, jewellery, paintings, ceramics, drawings and others spread through out 4 floors of the museum designed by the architect Gonçalo Bryne.
Along with the exhibition, we also designed the supports for subtitles used along the exhibition. These supports were designed to work both in horizontal or vertical position, depending on the piece being exhibited.
Capitolium and Vesta designed by Gerard Unger, where the typefaces chosen for the museums visual identity do to it’s design based on Roman heritage, a tribute to the Roman crypto portico, the oldest building of the museum.
