Catalog of the exhibition Fernando Távora – Permanent Modernity, one of the closing events of Guimarães 2012 – European Capital of Culture.
The catalog works as a account of Fernando Távora’s work as one of the key figures of Portuguese modernist architecture and a more personal insight into his work and life.
A bespoke typeface, with four variants – regular, inline, engraves and ligatures – was designed based on a grid developed by the architect himself.
Rich in production details, the book uses different paper stocks and productions techniques to a more fulfilling reading experience. The cover, while preventing tear, invites the reader to get know or rediscover the architect’s oeuvre, working as an entrance gate.
