Hi, I’m a multidisciplinary designer, focused on visual design, photography, and designing typography.
I was born in Coimbra, Portugal and in my early years I grew up in Newark, NJ. Before design I worked in other fields (welding assistant, mechanic, etc.), gaining experience that I found to be useful when working on environmental projects, signage, stands, exhibitions, etc..
Typography and photography have always been my big passion, designing allows me to combine them. My first encounter with type was at a very young age with graffitis, first on paper then later on walls, at this point, this was just for fun.
In 1999 I attended a course (high school) in Graphic Arts at ARCA EAC a vocational school in Coimbra where I gave my first steps towards design, gaining knowledge in offset printing, photography, and typography which motivated me to continue to college, majoring in Design Communication at ARCA EUAC.
I’ve been a freelance graphic designer/photographer since 2002, focusing on design and commercial photography for direct clients and for other design studios.
Since 2009, I’ve been working as a senior designer at FBA, a design studio based in Coimbra.
